Hey All,

I'm thinking about heading up Barney Riley trail next weekend (13th-14th). Told the girlfriend I'd take her camping for her birthday. I've had my FJ60 about 10 months now, mostly stock with OME heavy lift, still sitting on 31" tires until I can afford new ones.

Did a two-week trek down in Baja with a buddy and his LR Defender back in June. Haven't done any wheeling up in the Sierras yet. I've heard this trail has a couple tough spots but overall is pretty doable.

Any tips and sections to watch out for? Anyone going to be up there next weekend? Anyone know how high the river is and if its passable?

Did you go? I'd love to hit that trail.

Peter

And did you go yet?

From the 395 side that trail is super easy.
From Hwy 88 it's a little more challenging, but nothing complicated.

Regards

Alvaro

Did it 3 weeks ago, river very high and fast. Comparing to the 3 years of prior trips.

what Alvaro said. I've been twice this year, once in my XC-LB F-250, and once in a cruiser that ended up following a crew cab long bed F350. Both times from the 395 side.

Your 60 shouldn't have much issue from the 89 side, and really won't from the 395 side.

Thanks for the info everyone. I didn't end up going that original weekend - hit up the Blue Lakes area instead - but I'm hoping to get up there in the next month or two.
