Yeah, actually. Both ended up pretty nice. Colorado was stupid with the importing process, so I am going to register first in Montana.
I had to do a TON of work especially on the 88. Changed out tcase, front drive shaft and rear diff plus many little things.
the 78 needed a lot of fab work to replace the old oil filter and such with obtainable and reliable parts. I just got home from open heart surgery today, so I haven’t been working on them or their registration for a while (and won’t work on them for a while yet).
They are fun to drive and the 5 speed in the 88 makes cruising at 70mph easy instead of terrifying.

Awesome! I have a friend in Brazil with a bit of a frankenstein's monster (1972 chasi and drivetrain with a 1992 body, but it is very well done and reliable, him and his family are big time car ppl and seasoned on the mod/restore business). We are just chatting the other day and he told me he would let it go for what would be a very decent price. Im tempted to buy it and leave it in Brazil for now for me to drive when I go down there, but eventually would love to bring it up here. Washington state has no inspection, so I assume it would be easier to get it registered here!

Btw, hope all is well with the post surgery recovery!
