I am currently running 33 x 12.5 Baja MTZ radials on stock 17" rims, and a 3" OME lift. I've read a lot of threads and I haven't come across any information that will help me determine the correct amount of backspacing that I will need on the new rims that I need to purchase, so that I clear the UCA's. I'm having some considerable rubbing which I thought would go away after the lift.

I am equally concerned that too much backspacing will make the tires stick out beyond the wheelwell, but to have an answer to that I would need to know what the stock backspacing is on the 17" alloy rims.

Can anyone with any experience in this area provide some assistance to me? I thought that after my OME I was going to be able to hit the trails this labor day...but I'm still stuck in my garage!!

i am using the same tire as you. i have dick cepek rims the backspacing is 4.53 in. no where near hitting the uca. they do push the tires out a little but not far enough to make it look bad. they have to come out a little so you wont hit the uca. hope this helps look at my avitar i know its small but cant seem to get puter do down size photos or i would post one for you to see.

When I had my 3" lift I was running 305/70/17 Maxxis bighorns that rubbed the UCA a little, I bought Allpro's UCA's and no more rub.
Stock backspacing is 4.5" I think.

i got a brand new set of SpiderTrax for 07+ FJ Cruiser if you want them...I decided to just buy the UCAs and skip the spacers for now....

Upper Control Arms...if you look behind your front tires you will see a horseshoe shaped item that your coil overs fit within their arms.....part of your IFS.

I have decided to buy new UCA from Cambridge or Total Chaos.....and not use the brand new SpiderTraxx spacers......
