OK, I need to ask a dumb question. After almost two years of owning my LJ78 I'm still listening to that reverse gear beeper and wondering if it's actually a proximity sensor that doesn't work or just an annoying sound to let me know I'm in reverse.
Anybody know?

Thanks

K

My 2007 HZJ79 has backup buzzer, so I think you have a backup buzzer/beeper as well. Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

Michael

It's a just a reverse beeper, no proximity abilities. The unit is located on the vertical brake pedal support if memory serves me correctly, unplugging that was the first thing I did to my cruiser.

Just a *^@#$^$ beeper. First thing I did when bringing my HZJ77 home was to unplug the irritating nuisance. Found it buried under the dash in the left footwell (Japanese-origin car).
