My brother got a 87 2wd auto with OD truck for free. The axle code on the firewall is F302 and the tranny code is A43D
I can't find a listing for his gear ratio. It cruises down the freeway at 70mph with a low rmp compared to my 86 5 speed 2wd yota. Can anyone tell me what it is?
The model # is RN50L-SRA
Thanks

About every Toyota 5 speed I've seen, OD drop is only 250rpm.

About every Toyota Automatic I've seen, OD drop is only 500rpm.

Downey 2001 cat says: F = 7.5" (2WD) 30 = 3.73 and 2 = 2 pinions.

Let me know what yer 5 speed 2WD gear is. I'm working on theory that those rears are lower than the AT's and one might swap one in for better MPG.

An AT rear in a 5speed truck, or a 5speed rear in an AT truck.

As I'm coming to find, the 22R has enough stroke at 3.5". I'm beginning to wonder what higher gears in a 2 or 4WD truck would do for it as far as a high MPG DD. Not as a lifted, lockered and all out off road 4WD.
