Hello, I am in the market for an awning for my Tacoma. I am debating between 3 different awnings.
Eezi-Awn Swift
Pros:
Can be free standing but can also be poled down and guyed out.
Least expensive.
Available locally from Equipt1, he's in my 4x4 club, and I want to support Paul.
Cons:
Smallest and doesn't wrap around the back (or front) of the truck.
Have to buy $200 mounts

Eezi-Awn Manta
Pros:
Can be free standing, but poled down and guyed out.
270degree coverage.
Available locally from Equipt1...
Cons:
Expensive.
Probably should be guyed out and poled down.
Have to buy $200 mounts

Alu-Cab Shadow Awning
Pros:
Strongest setup.
Doesn't need to be poled or guyed down.
Cons:
Not supporting local business.
Expensive.
Not sure how to mount to my roof rack, likely need cu$tom mounts.

Who's used what and what would you suggest?
Not interested in the ARB awning for a variety of reasons.

I would go with number two, but you could get the Bat 270 which is lighter, that is what I did.
I also buy a lot from Paul.

Here is mine, so easy to setup, but if you have some wind, it is a good idea to drop the poles and stake them down.
There are no guy lines, non needed with it.

I have an Alucab Shadow Awn. You forgot to mention that it is heavy.! Probably the heaviest of the three. Also the stowed size seems to be bigger.

I looked at the BatWing and didn't like the way it covers. I like the square panel of the Manta and Swift.
Also, Heavy isn't really that much of a concern. I figure that once it's mounted to the truck, it's going to STAY mounted to the truck. :D
