Yes, what vintage are we talking about?

Could be an A442F hydro or electronic.

I have one here that says A440F on the tag, but the trans is electronic, and therefore should be an A442F electronic. A little odd, yes, but the vehicle was made right at the time the transition to the electronic trans happened.

The Toyota 'Repair Manual for Chassis & Body' for the 70 series from Jan., 1990 onwards (RJ7_ LJ7_ FJ7_ PZJ7_ HZJ7_) has the A440F as the only automatic transmission option.

It mentions service specifications based on the A440F being used with the 3F and 1HZ engines.

The Toyota 'Repair Manual Supplement for Chassis & Body' from Aug., 1999 onwards (FZJ7_ HZJ7_) does not mention an automatic transmission, so it either didn't have one or was using the same A440F as what the earlier manual covers.

You could go looking on toyodiy.com and see if it shows an automatic for specific 70 series models/years.
