Auto and crawer case

I know Marlin makes a bunch of line-ups for dual case setups, and I think they also make a full dual case auto combo.

Check them or drop Advance Adapters a line. They are probably the two best places to start looking for slush box applications.

The autos in these trucks weren't the best for conservation of power. Not as bad as the auto behind say a 3FE, but I know the factory geared autos lower to help compensate. As far as crawler gears, I'm pretty sure Inchworm is the only outfit that makes an auto-crawlbox adapter (haven't looked so TG, AA or marlin may also, but Inchworm used to be it), requires some internal work on the trans in order to properly bolt everything together, but once installed it becomes basically like any other and you can bolt a single or dual case setup to it.

If you like the auto for drivability then I'd look into it. If it is going to be a trail rig primarily then running the auto with duals probably won't be too noticable, but on the street the auto with big tires will probably make for a sluggish feel. The 22re is a solid motor and I know lots of guys running 39+ tires with no problems, gearing is your friend with this little motor.

Well it depends on the auto. There is an F transmission behind the older Toyotas as well
