Howdy everyone. First post here, been lurking around for the last couple months, bought my 100 series back in July but now that the weather is cooling down here on the surface of the sun (Arizona) I am finally starting to work on some of the issues with my first ever LC.

I am getting the dreaded "Audio Off" message on my LX470.
It's a 2001 with the Nav system (see picture). I've looked through several threads regarding the topic and it seems there is no definitive answer on this.

Mine seems unique to a lot of the other threads I've read, in that all of the buttons circled in green work, and make beeps when you press them, however, all the buttons in red do nothing at all.
Is what is strange, is my radio used to work just fine when I first bought the car. Recently, one morning when I started it, it popped up with the Audio Off message, and it has been like that ever since (3-4 weeks)
My antenna also used to raise and lower with the switch on the dash, it no longer does anything at all.

Things I've done:
- Checked all fuses (all are good)
- Gone into the on screen diagnostics menu and done the button switch test - all the buttons in green work in the switch test, the ones in red don't register or make beeps, but I'm not sure if that menu detects them normally or not.

Anyone have any pointers? Should I remove the radio portion and check connections behind the unit?

What happens if you put a CD or cassette in it?

I failed to mention earlier that I also had puled the head unit and trim off to take a look behind it and there was nothing out of the ordinary going on. My amplifier works just fine, tried unplugging it and doing a factory reset to get it to pair with the head unit (not the issue). I purchased this vehicle with the "audio off" issue, and can not find any information anywhere about what is causing it. I'm suspecting the exterior controls trim piece may need replacing.

If you find a solution please let me know.

I am having the same problem. my ECU B1 fuse and the radio fuse are both blowing at. theyre only 1 fuse apart from eachother, I've tired disconnecting the 12v cig connections from the fuse and the cable, disconnecting the mirror fuse as mine dont move anymore. My fob doesnt work. lock and unlock buttons dont work, even in the interior, i'd have to manually lock and unlock the doors everytime. even the rear hatch I have to open from the inside.

As a previous chevy tech. sometimes the problem was the unit itself. I have the same screen as you with the radio stuff not shining but the buttons below and above are. ive looked at many forums and gone through many fuses trying thing after thing but no luck either

I recently solved my audio off issue. There is a section in the FSM that covers how to troubleshoot this problem. In my case, I did not have audio when pressing the power button of the stereo, and the screen showed "Audio OFF" on the display.

I had the right voltage and continuity at the above terminals. I ended up paying about $250 for a used stereo and now I have audio. Pretty satisfying considering I purchased this vehicle with this is problem.

Hope this helps!

hello quick question. would it possible for you to point out which pins to check. maybe on this diagram and if you have also a photo on the connections themselves. i'm trying to follow but im not like fully certain what's what and such, thank you

On the R1 harness you would need to put your positive lead in 1 and negative in 20. You should be getting 10-14 volts. Then you would put your positive in 11 and negative in 20 and check for the same volts. From what I recall the diagram above shows the backside of the harness, keep this in mind when testing from the front ports. All of the terminals would be mirrored. But they should be numbered on the harness itself.

If you have voltage to both of these terminals like I did you would replace your stereo. Keep in mind these were not all the same through out all years and models. You'll have to remove your stereo and look on the bottom for the model.
