Any reviews on these fuel packs? Was thinking it would be a way to store some reserve fuel on the roof rack while keeping things as low as possible.

Hrmmm... sounds like an expensive piece of american made crap. My other thought was to run the spare tire chain down through the center and sandwich it between the spare tire and the fuel tank of my sixty, I have not measured it out and am leary of the exhaust. I have a habit of running out because I forget to fill up sometimes. On long treks I would tote some jerry cans. I wondered what other thought of these.

I have both the "old" Kolpin (pictured in post above) and the Expedition One Geri (pictured below) and the Geri does not leak, is cheaper and holds 4 gallons. The "new" Kolpin holds 4 gallons as well and supposedly leaks less but after the first dissapointment I have no intention of finding out how the "new" Kolpin fares.

They are great for quads but given the price I would have a hard time buying them for use where there are not packaging and space constraints.

RotoPax make the Geri as well as these (2 gallon packs that clip together):

Thanks. Any thoughts on putting one between the spare tire and gas tank? Just for piece of mind that I will always have some reserve in case I forget to fill up sometime. Is this a bad idea?

If my memory serves correct the E-One Geri is rated for have 800#'s loaded on it so it should not have any issues being sandwiched between the spare tire nad fuel tank as long as both were clean and heat from exhaust was not an issue.

Here's an upside:

you could use it as a children's backboard...
