Atlas 13k winch problem

I recently installed an Atlas 13k winch. The first time I used it.....it worked for about 2 minutes and then nothing but a clicking solenoid. I checked the installation and everything is correct. I have dual Optima yellows so there is plenty of CCA. Does anyone have experience with this winch? Greg Smith Equipment's tech guys won't be around until Monday.

Sorry to read that, but probably not a lot of folks running those here, i would guess. Hopefully and probably easy to fix.

(Not to belabor the point, but there is a reason why some people fork over the big $$ for Warn etc.)

I've always owned a Ramsey or Warn.....This was a birthday gift from my daughters and wife.....one of the BF's convinced them this was a good product. He is now an ex-BF....go figure.

Update

GSE tech guys had me do a couple of tests and determined I had a bad motor.....it's out of their 90 day warranty so a new motor would cost $160 w/shipping.......ouch.
I took it to a local electric shop, a guy who knows 12v and winches. He popped the cover off the motor and said "Look at this ". Somehow the factory had painted the inside of the motor....over spray's the guess. It ran until it got hot enough to burn the paint and then quit. 10 minutes with a wire wheel and the thing runs like a new winch......which it is.
Surprisingly, he had nothing but good things to say about this winch, series wound motor, good quality etc. "Don't kid yourself, everything electric is made in China now days, even the big dollar boys are assembled in USA with Chinese parts".
I'm not trying to stir up an old tired debate, just passing along a fix and an opinion from a guy who has spent years fixing 12v motors.

As a kid, I remember how family friends would work at factories such as Florsheim Shoes, Arrow Shirts, Van Huesen... etc. They would assemple the items that were then sent to the U.S. in order for the "Made in the U.S.A." tag be affixed to the goods.

Nothing has changed... only the price of gas.
