Are Spacers Worth The Time And Effort

A small group of coworkers and whoever else wants to come, are going on a saturday run up in Frazier Park and down into Gormon on the 22nd of August. I was told that my front end is sitting too low because of the wait of the ARB bumper and the 90 pound warn winch and I might get caught up in some stuff. ( Maybe I can use the winch. hehehe)Are spacers worth it, I don't quite have enough dough for the lift yet, and I also want to keep watching here to decide whats best for my situation. I'm not too crazy yet but if I keep hanging out here, who knows.

I did fine on both and my ride has bone stock suspension.

I havn't been on any of the trails up there yet, so I wasn't sure. I saw all the mods on your sig line, but I didn't see any bumper or winch mods, do you have the wait on the front? When I put the ARB and Winch on it went down about 1 1/2" 's. Major stink bug!

I got MAF's spacers. 30 mm, matching front and rear. (You can do front, or rear, or both.)

There are a variety of available ones out there. Some searching will net you plenty of results.

The front end of my '97 also dropped 1.5" after adding an ARB bumper and winch. I installed Metal Tech 1.5" spacers and problem solved.

Just stop in adavanced auto parts and pick up a set of 1" rubber spacers. They are cheap and if you don't use them after the lift no big deal to throw out.

MetalTech are sweet, but cost more. Im using Slee's 25mm for now (no custom front bumper or winch).

I'm using spacers as the budget alternative to a "real lift", and its working out well so far. MAF poly spacers in the rear, and some home made ones (look like MetalTech) 1.5" in front. At 1.5" I haven't really noticed the steering feeling too loose which was a bonus.

I'm saving towards putting an 850/860 lift in the truck, but in the mean time this was a good way to counter the extra weight of bumpers and sliders and such.

I am running the MetalTech 2" front spacers. Things are awesome! It brought the front back to a good height after I added ARB and winch.

After installing J's front and rear, my front was still low. I installed a set of 25mm spacers to raise it up a little. Now that I have a few hundred pounds of steel in the rear the ride is almost level.

I bought TG's 1.5" and love them.
