Are all 343s the same? (1 Viewer)

I have an opportunity to pick up a 4.7/343/tc out of a 1999 100 series for a reasonable fee and fantasized about putting this into my 80. I recall CDAN mentioning that the 343 in the 100 series is merely from the same family, but not the same tranny. Any insight anyone might have would help to abate or fuel my fantasy.
