Unless you got a go to person in Washington the shipping a duties brokerage fees will add up close to what a local vendor will sell it to you for.

Also exchange is pretty hefty.

Poser sure knows his stuff, great guy.

x2 for the Coho, or the Clipper.

No brokerage fee, only freight costs: Minimum of (IIRC) $21.00, then $0.45/lb after that. You have to pay the usual duties/taxes to the Canada Customs officer on duty before the package will be released.

I have used both. I prefer the Clipper. They are easier to deal with, and a little cheaper.


The only PITA is you have to time your pickup for when the Customs office (same building) is open. The officers are only there just before/during/following the arrival of the ships. Otherwise you have to go to the Clipper/Coho desk to get the paperwork, then take it up to the Customs office on Government Street, pay the duties/taxes, then take the completed paperwork back down to the wharf.

Not that big a deal but it can be a PITA if your shipped either forgot the invoice or packs it inside. If you are going to do this, make sure they pack the invoice in an envelope attached to the OUTSIDE of the box, so Customs can get to it easily.

Considering ARB's US distributor is in the Seattle area, you could probably get your shipment within two days of ordering, if you use the Clipper.
 
i always use the US postal service... and just pay the customs...

UPS screws you everytime with the brokerage fees...
 
if you use the clipper wouldnt mind finding out what it cost you in the end...
have to order some 4x4lab arms in the next week...
 
usps is great, problem is most vendors use ups ONLY which blows for anybody over the border...i have used the seattle clipper a few times for misc things and it has been great, only pita is that you have to do customs yourself and sometimes u can go to the customs place by the coho but if they dont feel like dealing with u (which they apperently dont have to) they can send u to the customs office which is on the other side of the harbour but still well worth the $$ u save by getting it not through ups imho

Clipper is +/- $20 for the first 20lbs and then $0.45/lb after that. It's the best way to go for heavy stuff. And, to be clear, they don't charge additional fees for brokerage, handling, etc.

I just picked up parts for my ARB from John, he has tons of goodies in there. Good quality import replacement parts out of Austrailia... I was checking out the pinion seal, nut and driveshaft bolt kits... I just replaced all that stuff a few months ago but didn't know he had the kits.

Just a note that both Clipper and Coho are out of service right now due to their annual refits. Seawings is the only carrier running until later in January.
