Does anyone know how much an 8 year old arb fridge freezer mt35 is worth? Some dude is selling one and the lowest he'll go is $300. The pictures of it look pretty scratched up and will probably need some serious cleaning/repainting but he says its working as good as the day he bought it. I just wanted to get a second opinion if that's a fair price before I drive over to check it out today. There's pictures on the Escondido Craigslist. I'd link it but I'm posting from my cellphone. ARB FREEZER FRIDGE there's the ad. Yea I thought it was kinda high considering its condition. I was hoping I would be able to get a deal on it cause it would be kinda fun to paint it a different color and not feel bad about it.
 
Still think it's a little high - $200-250 at best, but I'm a cheap SOB. It's at least two generations old. This one does not have a temp guage on it and the one I have purchased a couple of years ago now does. Newest model has a whole different exterior.
 
I bought a 9 month old Norcold MT-60 with receipt and balance of two year warranty for $400 as a point of comparison.
 
wow thats a way better. yeah im looking at maybe just getting a new MT35. are those ok using indoors for long periods? im looking for a new place to live and some of the places im looking might just have a minifridge so it would probably be used as a freezer when its not in my 80. anyone know of the best place to order an engel from?

With fridges you can't get too hung up on if it's a good deal or not. You can wait around for the $90 60qt on craigslist. Or buy one for a reasonable price. After all the fridge is probably one of the best mods you'll ever do...
 
Yea now I think I'll just look for decent priced one that doesn't look like it was dragged behind a jeep for the last eight years. Looks like I missed out on some in the classified section by a month
 
OK so I've narrowed it down to the Engel MT35 or the MT45. I was reading about the new 50qt ARB but it looks kinda fisher price to me and I've read stuff about the plastic handle/latch not being built very well. The Engel fridges look better and are probably more durable. Everywhere I've looked the MT35 has been around 760ish and the MT45 around 800. Can't seem to find it any lower anywhere. it looks like the MT45 would be the better deal cause its slightly larger and the price difference isn't that much. any recommendations on a vendor that has a better deal? :)

We never turn ours off. It's better to leave a fridge on than to turn it off and on all the time.

Best place to order an Engel would be Sierra Expeditions

lol yeah I actually ended up calling Sierra Expeditions earlier today on my lunch break and ended up ordering an MT45.:doh: It ended up being way more than I intended to spend but I think I'll be well worth it. Just ordered the fridge and the hinge locks to keep the price down. Thinking of about getting a transit bag and/or the engel slide later on after my wallet recovers.:D
