There is a current "Official Pig Paint Thread" running but, I didn’t want to muck up the thread with this question.

Below is the related text to my question...

All this color code talk has me wondering what my pig looked like of the line. I was convinced i had a 1970 fj55015513. But my color code curiosity made me break out the flash light. The driver door says Nov. 1969 fj5515513. and the frame number under the hood says the same. I look thru pig picks all the time, and rarely see one that has the same blinker set up. the title and the truck are very close . i don't know what my question is, but i always knew she was special.fj55 1970/1969 [/QUOTE]

do you have the small blinkers that mount on the apron instead of the fender? if so, yes it is special, in us, only the 69's had those.

I have a puzzling question for you...

Bought a 69/70 from a friend of mine and also have the little blinkers on the apron. He had another piggy he used to do the roof replacement with and I pulled a bunch of parts from it.

(still have a full set of 55 axles, front springs (rears spoken for) mics parts, some dash parts, glass (x2) for any window except the winshield, working rear window setup, etc... will post some parts in the coming weeks)

To my question...
The apron on the parts piggy was much cleaner and better looking. I pulled my apron to put on the parts piggy apron and the mounting tabs were way different. Then I thought maybe the previous moved the tabs but, when I went to put the screws in the lower part of the apron they didnt line up from side to side.

Not sure about a fender swap... my buddy was definitely not a purist.

Interesting... they both say 69 (I will get the vins)...maybe there were minor changes between manufacture dates
