Applegate-Lassen Emigrant Trail Conditions

Does anyone have recent experience from the Applegate-Lassen trail through the Black Rock BLM land north of Reno? I'm considering a run this weekend and have found it very challenging to find updated information. I've left a couple messages at the BLM office in Winnamucca. The only thing I've heard is that much of Black Rock Playa is underwater.

I think there is a road on the west side that doesn't go over the playa?

It's been some years since I've been there.

Ah, that's good to know. I'm still looking all over the place for indications from anyone that has run it recently. It's over 200 miles from start to finish and my LC has a range of 225 mi so even with my extra 15 gallons of jerry can fuel I wouldn't have enough gas if I encountered a blockage near the end of the trail and had to turn around.
