Apple Car Play

New to me 2011 LX 570. Getting Apple Car Play seems complicated as the audio and climate controls are so integrated. Has anyone done this? How complicated was it?

Mud is an incredible resource of info and I recommend you run a search when questions like CarPlay, etc come up. After you do a bit of searching and reading, post up if there’s something specific you can‘t find.

There are several ways to add CarPlay and Android Auto to the Land Cruiser, though the options are a bit different for different model years and I'm not sure what's available for the LX (as the infotainment system is one of the items that differs between the LC and LX). The solutions range from modules that insert themselves into the factory harness, but use the factory controls and display to products that are full replacements, including "Tesla-like" units that replace pretty much the whole stack of controls. I'm not sure exactly what might work on a 2011 LX, so your best bet is to start with some searches as @Sandroad suggested.
