Anyone besides Pimp have one of these?

Love it?

Trying to justify the $1000 for one...

Mac... The EASIEST thing (for me at least) was justifying the purchase price after I installed it.

The AO`s versatility, quality and add-on accessories were all huge selling points when I was looking for a rack, and happily this rack has exceeded every expectation that I had (which was pretty damn high BTW ! ).

Just buy it... You wont regret it !

But Sin's rich! He owns a casino or a brothel or something like that...

I think you're right. I should just call Christo right now and order one.

We had two measly cedar chaise lounges strapped up there this weekend and the cross members were bowing so much that even the wife was concerned.

There's my arguement right there!

owns a brothel ? .... No
owns a brothel VIP card ? .... ;)

The same week that I had my AO rack installed I had to move a Queen-size bed across town. With the top rail off, I easily tossed the boxspring and mattress up there ( ahhh.. a nice BIG, flat surface to load things on ! ) with the optional eyelets installed all over the rack, I was amazed how easy it was to secure the load to the vehicle.

I used to nervously peek out through sunroof whenever I had anything on my roof hoping that it (and the cross-bars!) were still up there, especially while driving fast or off-roading... I was just waiting for a failure....

Now I dont even have to worry about it.. Just load and go.

Oh... And my rig still fits fine in my garage with the top rail removed

It really does kick a$$ !

Is Slee the sole US importer?

I know with my TJM stuff, I got some pretty good deals from my local 4x4 guy.

I can't find anything on the interweb about AO except some lame PDF.

In case you havent already seen this, here`s some fairly good product info from a LR site ( BTW scroll almost all the way to the bottom of the linked page to see the info on roof racks )

Woo-Hoo!!! Just ordered it!

Half rail and 6 each of the eye bolts.

$1232.70 shipped. Y'ouch!

Oh, and they only come in black now.

I have an old wilderness rack. I've had it off the truck 3 times in 5+ years, mostly for painting.

Just last week I painted it with a 2 part epoxy paint (used in industrial settings) which will hopefully be the last time in 10 years I paint it. I also went over some of the welds while it was down.

The feet I use on my rack are custom stainless feet a buddy made for me.

My point of saying all of this is that I easy have +$1000 worth of time/$/energy in my roof rack and it still isn't as good as the AO racks. I weighs 2X the AO ones. It rusts, it is noisy. It's heavy. Did I say it's heavy?

I want a 60 A/O rack.

I too have a wilderness rack and the thing thats nice about it is it looks OEM. It has all the same rust patterns as most 60s get.;)
