Theres actually quite a distance between the squeeze and the dropoff. Certainly enough to turn around. I would guess at least 100 yards? Please correct me if Im wrong.
While I haven't actually been in a vehicle between those two obstables, I did park at the squeeze and walked for a bit hoping to see the dropoff. I walked for a good distance and ended up turning around. Likewise, on the east side, I walked up the dropoff and there seemed to a good amount of room at the top.
On another note, they actually poured concrete on part of the dropoff to help with errosion, for what its worth.
