And yes, by the 16th, i mean this coming weekend.

It's getting really bad. I can't go a month now without being in the great outdoors. I start to go nuts! Im dying for a campfire!

We are going to head up Ortega Hwy to Blue Jay Campground (i know not really primitive).

Not looking to wheel.. just want to get away and relax and try out the new tent.

Anyone wanna head out Saturday afternoon with us?

Just called the Ranger and comfirmed the fire level. We have a green light on campfires and charcoal bbq's.

Too close to home for me.:flipoff2:

Now that I might do.

If I can swing out I would be happy to. I would be very jealous though as I haven't had the pleasure of riding San Juan in over 2 years. Soon though, soon.

Shoot i haven't been there since like 2000!! I'd probably think i was a good downhill rider and fly off the edge on accident!

I just rode 2 weeks ago and I felt like i was gonna die.. which is no laughing matter cause my dad had a heart attack riding 2 years ago and died on the trail. It would be bitchen to ride San Juan in his honor on Fathers day since we used to race together. He would school my ass on any trail right now if he was still around.

Sorry to hear about your dad. It would be cool to ride in his honor but I am physically unable. I know what you mean about the ass kicking. My buddy Dave next door that I used to ride with would kick my ass to the top of any climb we did and he was 59! He got killed last year by a guy who was getting something out of his glovebox and veered into the bike lane taking my friend and his wife out. I bet if there is a place in heaven for bicicylists your dad and Dave are riding perfect singletrack together right now.

yeah, i used to hear so many stories about guys getting hit on the road. I used to ride with the OC wheelman and Irvine Bike Club and it was tough man riding the streets. I remember one thing that my dad always told me...

"never ride past a church on a sunday"

Anyhoo, sorry to hear about your neighbor man. It gets easier day by day. Thats the only thing i know.

I was really planning on swinging by Dave but I don't know if I will be able to. I just found out last night that I have to do a family thing. My wifes family is getting together at 4pm down in Vista. Not sure when I will get back. I will swing by if I can.

It's all good Mo.. that's a long haul just to have a beer or two. No worries.

Here are a few pics from the trip. We had a good time getting away, even if just for the night.
