Jon, I handed out the Canadian Tire units to you and the other guys, and used my Baofeng UV5R to talk to you on the same channel. You probably didn't notice the radio I was using was a lil' different....

Yeah it would be nice to know a type, freq., etc you guys are planning on getting, so we can talk be on the same channel, I have an old dash mount CB that I might throw into the FJ40, but not sure if I will able to talk to anyone.

I have a dash mounted CB that came with my truck. Hopefully will work in a pinch if necessary.
That Ebay Baofeng model looks like a decent deal too! That may even be the type my buddy brings in...
My handheld fire dep't radio is a 5w and they go a very long distance...FRS radios seem to be inconsistent with how far they reach between models/quality.
