I am looking for wheels for the cruiser and am still having difficulty figuring out what to get. I have done plenty of searches in this forum but a few things are still not clear:bang:
  1. What is the maximum offset that you guys have run on 16" wheels going on a front disc brake setup. By looking at my truck I am thinking that I may actually be able to handle 4" BS.
  2. If the stock wheel was 5.5" wide and had 3.5"backspace then it had a +6mm offset. In order to maintain that offset, I could get a 16"x6" w/ 3.75 BS like the one here. Or a 16"x7" w/4.25" BS which we all know won't work on the cruiser.
  3. I might go with the 16"x6" but it is 1/2" narrower than the minimum recommended width for 255/85/16 (the tires I want to run). Do you guys think this would be a problem.
  4. I have looked at other toyota truck wheels (tundra, tacoma, 4runner, etc)but all have too much BS. Can someone confirm or deny? I don't really like the regular wagon wheels but I don't see too many 16" options
Does this make sense or am I out in left field somewhere?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the toyota truck wheels work if you use spacers.

are you trying to keep the tires inside the wheel wells? not really understanding your main objective.

most of our vehicles have hi center of gravity and adding a inch of width is noticeable in stability in my vehicles. but we don't have red georgia clay here to cover the sides:)

:whoops: forgot to mention that I am trying to keep them inside the wells and also don't want to use spacers. Keeping them inside the wells also prevents me from HAVING to lift it....i.e. keeping the center of gravity lower. I am trying to figure out if 16"wheels with 4" BS will work.

I'm not sure the 4" BS will work. I've read different things and so say it works. I sided on the conservative side and ordered a set of 16" wheels from Rocky Mountain Offroad 4 years back and I decided to go with 3.5"BS. It still looks tight back there with the the TREs rubbing when fully turned.
