Anyone use one of those $80 carbs off of amazon?

Which screws were fouled up? I see a lot of posidrive indicators, but nothing stripped.

I had to make an adapter to use my 1974 air cleaner housing. The new carb was shorter than the old one.

How did you seal the opening? The 74 used a clamp to seal the throat of the carburetor. The 2F carburetors all have a stud that squeezed the air cleaner down right the lip of the Carburetor. It's a gasket between the lip of carburetor and air cleaner that made the seal. The 74 doesn't have that lip.

I basically made a carb throat extension that bolts onto the new carb using the threaded hole for the stud. I used some rubber to make a gasket to go between the adapter and carb. Then the air cleaner housing fits like normal and I use the stock seal and clamp to hold it all in place. Easy peasey.

Did you have the spacer block. My 1972 with the spacer block was a perfect fit. Have to rig something for the throttle cable, but the air cleaner cap fit perfect.

For those who need cabled throttle control, my guess is that it is the same as the parts available for the Weber conversion, because the Weber, the '75 Aisan 2F, even my Nissan's Hitachi, all have the same cable holder hole for a flat sided 8mm throttle shaft. Maybe I'm on to something, maybe not.
