Anyone use a 12 volt swamp cooler or portable AC?

So, due to a bracket issue, I am not sure I can get my AC unit installed before we head out on our trip. I was thinking a portable device of some sort could be put in the Piggie with no problems. I did like this one:

Next Wednesday leave up to Shingletown (south of shasta), then onto Kelowna, British Columbia by Friday. Saturday on to Yoho Park where we will fish and explore for a week, then on home via 93, with some detours for exploring till we get to 80. A brief stop over in Elko, Nevada to hang with the Father in law.

Any recommendations on a way to stay cool? Did you check out that link?

I had heard a friend had an A/C on his roof rack tent. Here's are the pics:

He runs it off a Honda 2000W generator. Gas is cheap in Venezuela....

I had a similar unit years ago in Las Vegas it worked great. I used to load it with ice and water which doubled it's cooling. We were just up in the Shasta area last week and it's hotter than the hubs of hell there, humidity is low though so an evaporative cooler should work pretty well.

I wouldn't think it would be worth a damn in New Jersey.
