I'm trying to take a much-needed half day off today and thought it might be fun to mess around in Holy Jim Cyn for a bit - hit some mud and puddles just for fun. I've never met any of you local 80 owners, so I'm just throwing this out. If anyone has a couple of hours this afternoon, post up and maybe we'll head out.

I assume it will be open. In fact, I don't recall there being a gate at the entrance to Holy Jim - or maybe I've just never noticed it. Silverado is closed for sure, but I think they deliberately leave Holy Jim open so people can saitsify their mud needs somewhere. Keeps the hoodlums out of places they shouldn't be.

Have fun and take pics. I remember one year @ Holy Jim a buddy of mine in a Toyota pickup getting water in his engine and was stranded for quite some time there. Personally i can't stand mud (ih8mud). It's fun until you have to get out of the rig and walk around in it and usually thats for sure.

Yeah, I don't like getting out of the truck in the mud either, but I do enjoy playing in the puddles a little bit. I look at it as practice for the time I'll be spending driving through muddy tropical jungle...

Bleepin' work! Now it's dark, and not only did I not make it out to Holy Jim, but I've been working all day, am still working, and I won't be done anytime soon. So much for taking the afternoon off. Anyway, maybe next time...

Cruiserruf - Holy Jim is up near the northern end of El Toro Rd, at the base of Saddleback Mtn, just a little past Cook's Corner the biker bar. The puddles get nice and deep so it's pretty fun to mess around on the trail.

No chance for a break for the rest of this week, so maybe some other time...

Just so you know what you missed. Some friends of mine were out there yesterday. :)

I know it wasn't you - not as purty a Voodoo Blue as yours! Great picture nevertheless!!!

Well thanks. I just didn't want to mislead anyone into thinking I was having too much fun because I wasn't, darn it.

It's been so damn long since i've been there i don't even recognize it. Dang i feel old. :(

Think your old now, just wait till the kids come, life really begins to speed by. Just keep making great memories, that's what it's all about! :)

Great pic. That's exactly what I was expecting to see there. I'll post up next time to see if anyone can make it.

weeeee

Is there a thread on that trip somewhere? I would like to go now and wonder if there are any more pics? Im itchin to go froading now that my rig is for sale....

Probably going tomorrow (the 18th) around 1pm if anyone wants to head out. Depends if I can get away, but I'll try...
