We purchased our ‘94 LC with Carbeau seats and they left the original seatbelts installed.

Curious if anyone has installed these seats and what seatbelts do you use?

We don’t like the original seatbelts with these seats. They are harder to buckle and are pretty much maxed out when buckled so you can’t move or look out the window when wheeling while buckled. And the space between the passenger seat and console is very tight.

I do like the seats and they feel like they hug me and keep me in place, but it’s the belts that don’t feel right.

Thoughts? Solutions?

Yes and cheaper Yes!
Did not think about this route. Definitely worth a try!
I appreciate your feedback greatly!
There are a number of members have replaced the front seat belt using the third row seat. The rear belts are shorter but have the same clasp. That may be the case with your front belt. I would take a trip to the local boneyard and pull a set of originals.

Just the buckle part or the belt?

I have a parts vehicle and I have already pulled my third row seat belts.

Another great idea!

Both the belt and the buckle. The buckle is sewn onto the belt so no need to swap that. I'm saying that swapping a 3rd row belt makes it shorter which is the root cause of your problem not the aftermarket seat. Using the 3rd row belt from another vehicle isn't going to fix your problem. You need the front belt. Other option would be to send your existing belt to Safety Restore have them install new material indicating you want a longer belt.

Got it, I’ll pull the front seat bet and buckle from my parts LC and see if they are longer.
I appreciate the info and the clarity.
