Anyone have pics of a 4.3 or 3.8 swap?

What was it about the swaps you didn't like?

3.8 - non EFI, runs very hot, needs modified headers (to clear the steering shaft). But it's light, can make good power. Expensive swap.

4.3 TBI. It's poorly balanced engine (the CPI's and later are better), heavier than the 3.8, poor power band, requires Sanderson Headers or modified tubular GM manifolds, doesn't rev, sucks gas readily. Expensive swap.

Both of mine were rebuilt, balanced and blue printed... didn't like either.

Toyota:
reliable.
rev-able.
fuel efficient.
great after market support
toyota.

i love my 4.3, with 38's fast as you wanna go up any hill if you got the balls.
good swap if you add lots of mods that make your rig heavier. doesn't require aftermarket headers, not bad on fuel mileage, cheap swap if you can trade parts/or fabricate.

Toyota= good-on a light rig (or trailer queen)-
but
Chevy=cheap, readily available parts & (twice the hp)

I love how the 4.3 has worked out. Tons of power, great economy and excellent reliability. My only issue has been doing this a couple of times:

But thats mostly my fault, a bit to much throttle on a hill climb.
