Are there any folks heading north for the Black Hills run this year besides Jason and myself?

We'll be lookin' for ya.

We're heading up Sunday due to Sarah not understanding the whole get out of town vacation thing :D

Tuesday evening I spotted a green FJ40(hardtop probably had 35's) on a trailer behind a blue Tundra on I-29. I think it was just south of Sioux Falls maybe south of Sioux City. Perhaps someone from this club going out early? Unfortunately I couldn't get the date off for the event so I went out June 30 for a week and stayed with my brother. I was driving a green Dodge Ram with my beat up 4Runner on the trailer. Have fun!

We be leaving Wichita at 0800 tomorrow. We'll fill you in upon our return to central Kansas hell.

I'd just suggest that in my absence you don't follow Gary either.

Great trip. It rained a little and a few trails were a little slow, but the rocks were stellar!

I ran Iceman, Jake and Hal John's. Broke a long, an Aisian hub, bent my cowl, fender and apron. But, I did not twist my ankle. :frown: The only thing that would have made it better....you slackers joining us! :D

Funny thing, Gary didn't follow me on Iceman. I did follow him on Jake and other than a sprained ankle :frown: had no issues keeping up.

Overall we had a great time yet again. The Black Hills have some of the best trails I've had the opportunity to wheel. As mentioned other than the sprained ankle the only carnage was a bent tie-rod and a tweaked steering gear sector shaft, gotta love aired down Swampers on granite. It's looking like a hydro assist may be in the works for the off season. Other than that I can only ditto Gary's statement...:flipoff2:

I do need to give a special thanks to Jason, Sarah, Gary and David (Gary's brother) for helping out after the ankle incident.

I'll post up a few pics when I get them resized.

And I followed both of them on Iceman, was that supposed to be a 12 hour trail ride?

 My brother told me about that. Surely you have more pictures to post. You probably saw my brother, who is the president, and didn't know he is my brother. I couldn't get those dates off to make the event so I went out the first week of July. I'll send you a link to my pictures if you want.

My daughter took pictures with the DTC club camera and I did not take out my personal camera once the whole event:o The Iceman trail was long and by the end I was pretty grumpy but I have to remind myself that it is a long ride every time I go on it, every BHCC. It is a great trail for people who really want to push the limits of a 3+ rig (trail teams) it just needs to be about 1/3 shorter.

Jake was fun and would be even more fun a little drier. Hal Johns is a rock solid HOOT and I could run that trail everyday.

What does your brother drive?

I will second that! I have done sections of it every time I have been out there.

He wheels his silver 05' Tacoma, but I don't think he even took it to the event. He took his silver 01' 4Runner, but didn't wheel it. I know he road with a guy from Colorado(with new buggy) as the trail leader for Flat Nasty and Captain Crunch/Fruity Pebbles. Maybe he did wheel his Tacoma one day. He called me at midnight that Saturday after the event. He is in the process of building an FJ40 with spring over up front and 4link in the rear. It will probably be another year before that project is completed.

Here is my brothers truck...
