Anyone ever used a manual to semi automatic conversion kit?

assuming you mean an AT (automatic transmission). No one in their right mind would swap a 5-spd for an AT , even the guy with only one leg, lol. The AT has a rep for not being awesome and very expensive to replace/rebuild.
What truck? Which auto? Which manual?
Way too many variables here. If you mean swapping an h or r series manual in an 80 for a A442F then that's not a crazy thing to do, the A442f is a beast of a transmission. If you mean swapping out an h55f in a 40 60 or 70 for a A440 then that's a bit different.
