I am planning on painting a coleman steel cooler to match my 80. It will look good on my 4x4labs rear bumper rack. I know this sound a little OCD:D but I am thinking it will look sweet and the cold brews will taste better.
Any tips on prep?
Do I need a bunch of clear coat to have it last?
I was thinking of having a shop do the actual painting.

I resto'd an old colman metal cooler a few years back. I blasted away the old, replaced a rust patch, spray it twice with Rustoleum flat and clear coated it. It has been holding up good.

I saw a couple of the older Coleman steel coolers painted to match Cruisers at Rubithon '07. I don't think it sounds OCD, by the way, that's the typical project that occupies my twisted Cruiserhead brain.
