Info from talking to the guy:
Taken off the road 2 years ago, was OHV registered in CA.
4.11s, 3:1 TC. 8" lift. 177k miles.

Not running at the moment, needs coil and fuel pump.

Id offer less and see if he will take. Could be a good cheap wheeler. You will obviously have some work to do on it, but you could do that faster than the 55 resto. Have that to wheel while you do that.

Kinda what I'm thinking. I'm putting the Magnum in the shop today, if the repairs aren't too expensive I'll go back for a look. Since it doesn't run at the moment, any advice on what to look for? I don't know Toyota engines...

Head gasket for one thing!! If you own a mini, it's good to have a spare head shaved and ready to go. I have blown my fair share of them.

Allright I chickened out, it may be a good truck but "just needs a coil" always worries me.

I know he says it is smog legal, but not sure it would be so in Washoe County.

That is one of my concerns...on an early 80s vehicle is it just a tailpipe check, or do they look for specific hardware?

Owner says it won't pass Washoe smog. Moving on...

Makes me glad I have had a steady address in Churchill County for the last 10 years. I have never had to smog check anything since I left Alabama....and we sure don't have that crap there!!
