Thinking of buying an 87' 300ZX Turbo, anybody on the board got any advice before I go look at it? The guy is asking $2k below NADA, so I figured it was worth a look see. I know the 87' has the updated body, bigger 5 speed, and LSD rear. The pics show leather seats, and it says it needs a little interior TLC, with under 130,000 miles. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I'm not an expert by any means, but did trade my 911 on an 04 ZR and have done some looking on the board above. They certainly have the experts that could help answer any questions you have.

Best I can tell, the 300 Z's are solid cars and that's not a lot of miles for a 20 yr old car... just don't know what kind of miles they are. Could have been tracked for a bunch of them.

Good luck... I'm loving mine!

Great Link there. Man now I need to have Mud and the Z link open on the computer. Thought this particular pic was fitting for Mud.

$3200, talked to him yesterday. He said everything works but the speedo. It is an analog unit, and can be swapped easily. He also said it needs a new headliner, but he has one. No leaks, and one small rust spot at the rear tail light. I would love to have it, but I think I am going to keep focusing on my 40 and look to getting a new car later this year. Love the old cars, but don't want too many. At the end of this year the Camry will have 130,000 miles, and would like to have at least one car under warranty.

If anyone is interested I can post a link, or you can just look on CL. It is in SC.

Just so you know, a manual boost controller, intercooler, and better intake is all that is needed to have a 350 hp, rwd sports car with a LSD rear. You will be doing 0-60 in under 6 sec. for $5,000.
