Any way to manually turn on dash lighting or have it always on?

Other than turning on the exterior lights, of course.

I don't feel like I had this issue as much with the early model dash, but with the later model sometimes it's not nearly dark enough outside for the headlights to kick on, but the dash is kinda hard to read, especially when driving into the sun. Or sometimes just on overcast days, I tend to still need sunglasses, even with tint, it would be easier if the dash was backlit. I wouldn't mind having the dash backlighting always on, though having some way to toggle it in case I ever need to would be preferable.

There is a small wheel on the left dash right below the instrument cluster.

I thought that was what that was for, but rolling past the click on mine doesn't seem to keep them on like I thought it would. Wonder if there's something wrong with mine.
