Changing my oil today. When I pulled the skid plate off this fell out. Looks like some kind of brake pad but it’s a magnet. I’m guessing it’s something I picked up off the road but could it be something off the LX? Any ideas? Should this go under SQOTD?
Any ideas what this is?

Could be a transmission pan magnet.
That looks like the tranny pan magnet that goes inside the pan. I would guess someone serviced the tranny and left one out.
I guess you could technically put them on the outside of the pan and it would still work..

Lexus did do work on my Tranny when it was under warranty but that was ~3 years and 40k miles ago. I’m the only person that has done any work on it in the last 2 years it’s been out of warranty. I did the trans fluid exchange through the cooling line about a year ago at 60k miles Didn’t drop the pan though.
"Tranny magnet" for the 2019 phrase of the year. Work is going to make me take sensitivity training. Again.
Quit watching those movies ....
