Any good stuff to salvage from an old fridge?

About to scrap an old fridge. Refrigerant was lost due to a leak. Not worth fixing. Stashing goodies for playing RubeGoldberger later on in my old(er) age.
I'm thinking the compressor for sure, copper tubing, heat exchangers maybe, fan.
Anything else? Any good relays in there?


(anybody knows if these fridge compressors can run well with air or would the lack of oil be an issue? I'm assuming it's a diaphragm type, looks like a melon.)

nope, does not want any more "junk" around... Sheesh, like who needs to put more than 1 car in a 3 car garage...? and I keep telling her that this old water heater in the yard is for a smoker, so she would argue we don't need 2. (Although I have like 5 grills...)

nice, all the inside screws are stainless...
also got a nice solenoid water valve.
And a whole bunch of multiprong wiring connectors.

will use the compressor for air and see what I'll get out of it. It's a big one.

I'm not an expert but if the compressor was made in Malaysia or Far East I would trash it ... If Made in USA I would keep it .. It is my understanding from the last compressor we had replaced by an old time refrigerant repair guy that they most (all?) of the offshore stuff is pretty shoddy construction. Probably why my Philco fridge is still humming along after 45++years in the basement and my 8 YO Maytag is limping along with a new compressor.

the compressor can be used for air... just very low CFM but if you have an old refrigerant tank it will build pressure.... the best use if you have the need is they make very good vacuum pumps for pumping down a refrigeration/ac system or for vacuum bag glue ups or laminating, the defrost time can be used also...

yep, was going to get the timer, although a bit of a long shot I'd have use for that. I have digital programmable timers.

I'm eyeing the doors now, there are some nice big metal sheets there...
