As the title suggests I'm looking for a good shop to do a windshield replacement on my 2000 LX470. I can't bring myself to pay $2500 at the Park Place body shop. I had Safelite do my previous car and they did a good job, but I know these windshields have the rivets and need a knowledgeable tech. Any recommendations (preferably close to the Frisco area)? Thanks!

Following as I too live in DFW...Safelite told me to buy/bring the trim pieces (my side pieces are up a little and don't clip down near the roof rack) and they'd replace the windshield. I'm closer to FW...but don't mind driving if you find a good place. OEM Trim pieces are about $600, windsheild is $~400 through Safelite.

I don't have any wind noise nor leaking...and am concerned that fixing 1 issue could cuase 3 more if not done correctly.

Bumping thread also in DFW area.

I don't need to replace windshield, but I do have screws instead of rivets with a couple missing.

Following along too...

I am getting ready to file a claim with insurance to see if I can somehow get OEM coverage but am also interested in a shop in the DFW area that has done many 100 series replacements...trying to avoid safelite

Park Place Lexus in Plano did a perfect job on mine. It’s the only time I used an insurance claim to pay for a windshield.

Good to know, i'm a few minutes from there. Assuming they used oem glass/rivets?

Correct. I actually bought everything from their online site then scheduled the install. It was quite a bit less expensive do do it that way for some reason. I want to say I saved $600-$800 so check their online prices beforehand.

I used a guy out in Granbury. Robert’s Autoglass. He did a good job. My only complaint is he used an overmoulding at the top. It has created a bit of wind noise. Otherwise he used oem parts and rivets.
