Yeah, Navy does train for more aggressive flying on approaches and harder landings than Air Force. Most airline pilots have ten years military flying experience, and Air Force guys are much more likely to have that in heavy jets. I usually go for a firm landing on short, wet, or gusty runways, that's no time for showing off. Passengers complain, but they don't realize it's for their safety.
