So - new to the forum, but have a quick question. I have OEM wheels/tires and the TPMS read different than what the door jamb called for. So I deflated the tires to 33lbs each, left the spare alone, it was 29lbs, and preformed the reset according to the manual. But, the TPMS never registers the new values. All I get are " ----" marks for all tires. I'm in Ignition Mode, press and hold the reset button for 3 flashes then drive. Nothing changes. Any tips on what I may be missing? Tks....

Just verifying that you’ve driven around a bit per step 5?

Yep. It was regular traffic for about 45 minutes or so. If I understand the directions, I should at least see some numbers picking up after I release the reset button, right?

Update - so I tried it again..... It worked. However, after pressing the reset button, the TPMS still read no pressures, just “———“. I decided to drive anyway and after about 12 to 20 minutes, the tires registered on the system. But, I had inflated them to 33 lbs per specs and the system registers 35lbs to almost 36 except for spare which is at 30..... Close enough for me. I did learn that the dealer used NitroFill so maybe that accounts for something? I didn’t know that when I started this.

Regarding the “___” immediately following a reset. The owners manual states that you will not see numbers until driving for 10 mins over 45mph. So not seeing numbers immediately is normal. Even when not doing a reset it will take about a minute after ignition for the system to each of the TPMS sensors and display numbers.

As for the displayed PSI being different from what you may be measuring using a manual tool to measure PSI I have found that even the manual tools can be off by as much as 1-1.5 PSI. And the TPMS system on my MY16 LC is often 1-2 PSI below what I manually measured. So some very minor variability appears to be normal. Then there is the fact that if some tires are exposed to the sun and others are in the shade they will actually be at different PSI initially.

Pretty normal to see 2-4psi higher after driving around. Sometimes more on hot days.

Also... In my experience, most typical pressure gauges are not particularly accurate. My PowerTank gauge, on the other hand, matches my TPMS sensors EXACTLY. You may just have a gauge that’s a bit off.
