well my first cruiser was a 69 pig... and when i moved up here all i could find was 40 and 60 .. so i finally found a pig 71 and i had to trade the 60 for it but i am happy that i got her...

little rough around the edges but with some love she should clean up..
do need to fix the gas gauge... ran out of gas on the way home...
anyone know if the sender is hooked up like a 40 .. the one on the 55 is missing the ground wire off it.. and the 55 fuel sender you cant get anymore correct?? was wondering if anyone has tried a marine fuel sender..

also the speedo is broken.. most be the gears in the transfercase
and what is a good source for piggy parts..

heres a pic.... disc brakes all the way around, 350, saginaw power steering, FJ80 brake booster

thats a really nice pig you won on that trade. I see the questionable looking power steering conversion. looks solid I'd like to see more pics. Hook us up myman

Good looking new pig!

Good looking pig.

Fuel sensor - unique to pigs (of course) and has only a single wire. Ground is through body.

Parts sources - lots is available in the Mud classiified. Just ask and see if any of the members have a spare - there's a lot of sharing that goes on. Outside of that Spector Off Road (SOR) carries a pretty extensive parts list - but they can be pricey (but they have what you need). Also Classic Cruisers and cruiserparts.net. Plenty of others too. Mechanical parts are relatively easy to find - body parts...that's a different story.

Welcome to pigdom.

thanks guys...
as for the steering not the greatest work but will change it up in the next year or so.. i will get more pics for you...
just finished swapping out the speedo and the gear set at the transfer case...
now i can tell how fast i am going...
as finished up putting a copper line in for the oil pressure gauge.. PO put in a plastic line which was causing an oil leak down the backside of the motor..

so once i finish my 40 i am going to work on the 55 and take apart some of the PO nice work like the steering and blocks that go from the frame to the body..(guess it was his idea of not having body mounts... and some body work.. might see if i can SOA too... but right now gas guage and doing up some bumpers ...

you could try to get an fj40 sender and cut the arm off your fj55 one. install FJ55 arm on fj40 sender using the little wheel collars for model airplanes. they are the little round collars with the set screws. lots of generic marine gas tank senders have adjustable arms that are adjusted in just this manner.

thats a good idea... about the sender but i thought that the 40 sender was different ohms than the 55 sender...
but i might have found a 55 sender.. so might just have to wait... and i need to get more photos for you guys...

been busy this weekend.. was bending up some sch40 aluminum pipe for a roof rack for my buddys 60... needs to be strong since he is putting a roof top tent up there..
