Beginning my Non-Nav conversion. First of all, my 2005 GX470 is a Canadian version, production date of 11/04. From my research, the AC Heater control unit needed is part number 55900-60D30 to display in Celsius. Easier to find a unicorn than that part number, luckily I am an old enough Canuck that I can still speak fahrenheit. According to some very useful & detailed write-ups on the conversion the USA units I may need are either 88650-60770 or 60771 or 60B50. Great, 3 expensive possibilities, I threw a dart and ordered a 60771. I arrived and I plugged in the 3 connectors, seems to work but the control buttons are very slow to react. Any suggestions other than throw more money at the other 2 to see if they work better. Thanks eh. :)

It might be the nature of that unit. I just put a 60771 in my 2005 and the buttons require a firm push before they react. Keep in mind that even if some buttons function, be sure to test AC compressor kicking on, and that driver/passenger vents work properly.

The buttons are actuated by a tiny contact switch behind the button itself. I've noticed the "fan-up" button on my 773 unit is slow to respond as well when it's cold outside, but fine the rest of the time. Being that you are in Canada, perhaps more frequent cold temperatures make the issue more common for you.

Some folks on the 100 series forum have successfully replaced the contact switches on their HVAC units. It requires de-soldering the old switch from the board and soldering on a new one. I have a spare 771 non-working unit I bought for the buttons and may practice on that sometime for my 773 unit. Or, maybe I'll find an electronics shop that can do it.

773s are rarer than hen's teeth - the Celsius controls seemed more common than the US/Fahrenheit controls when I was looking for one.
