Another New Guy

While looking for my next FJ60 or 62, I ended up with a newish 22re engine with an '86 Xtra Cab wrapped around it. Sounds (and smells) like it needs a new heater-core, and possibly some electrical gremlin chasing.

Any ideas on a shop familiar with this era truck would be great. SW suburbs would be even better.

AC or not?

No AC is 2.7 hours. with AC is 3.4. You're also gonna have to find a place that can pull down and recharge the AC system if you have it.

no one stands out beyond a "Midas".

Unless you want to take it down to Marseilles IL and contact Tom at TNT4x4.

But there is no reason a "Midas" can't work on a 22re mini truck.

And Tom probably does not have the machine to pull down and recharge an AC system.

It does have A/C, cruise control, power windows, and assorted other PITA stuff. All I'm worried about is getting a lapfull of anti-freeze, and maybe being able to get the windows defrosted this winter.
