2/79 stock FJ40...manifolds off for blasting and painting...
(1) On the 90 degree elbows which slide on the center section of the exhaust manifold, there are two rings (similiar to pistion rings). Are there any wear tolerances for these?
(2) After the elbows have been cleaned and inserted back in, they are free to rotate with minimal force applied...is this normal and acceptable?
(3) The SOR catalog depicts the rings (#16 on SOR diagram, and call exhaust manifold ring), AND also depicts a circular spring (#15 on SOR diagram, labled exhaust manifold spring). Do I need to have these springs?
(4) I have the heat riser shaft and coil, but am missing the heat rise valve. Is there any place to get one?
This manifold elbow question has been bugging me for a week now, someone chime in with some good input and save my sanity! Even the Toyota mechanics couldn't give me an answer...
Cheers, and Keep on Cruising
