Another diesel engine solution for the Cruisers?

Howdy peeps,

I thought I would share an interesting little engine I found, and it is something I am saving up for It comes from MWM International Motores in Brazil.

This engine is a nice upgrade for Land Rover owners, but is being thrown into Chevy's and Ford trucks... so why not Cruisers?

The International 2.8L HS (a.k.a. HS 2.8L TGV) engine also known as the 2.8L Tdi power stroke is a 2.8 litre 4 cylinder direct injection turbo charged diesel engine.

The full specs can be found here. It'll be a nice improvement for me, and I thought that maybe it might be of some interest to you guys and gals

That may be the engine in Ford's power stroke Ranger pickup that is sold here in Central America.

That motor is used in TLCs ICON ( modified 40 series ) very sweet . !

Yeah, it's been used in a few things from the quick searches done on the net... but it seems as though it is reaching it's production run end

Gonna cost a pretty penny for the install... but dang it is worth it! Going from 15 MPG (4.0L V8) to that and getting 31 MPG will be a nice improvement for me... especially with a 89 Litre tank

how deep is deep? what does an engine like that cost? also what kind of transmission does it bolt up to?

I know in the TLC ICON they use a NVG4500 behind it

It will bolt up to just about any GM transmission with an AA kit, maybe more i am not sure any more
