The MIL light being on might mask a minor problem, but a major one will cause the light to flash with an OBD II.

I can tell you for sure that getting water down the plug holes and causing them to miss will make the light flash. :G

My light has been on for the past 2 monthes. Yesterday, it went off suddenly. The bulb is not burned out, so maybe the truck just likes me.

Bought a scanner with the reset function, ran some octane boost in 1/2 a tank of premium, reset the code, and it hasn't come back yet. It was a P0402 code.
