wow...116k on engine (I assume this means engine and entire vehicle). 4k seems like a very fair price for locking diffs (front/rear) and only 116k on car if CarFax comes back clean...anyone else know more about this rig? It could be a good alternative to the black 80 in Greenville.

I've been on this rig for about 2 weeks now. He just got it out the shop on Friday and wasn't letting anyone look at it until now. A guy in MB had first shot at it, but he didn't show yesterday. I'm next in line, but ultimately money talks. This guy has had a lot of tire kickers call, and he is getting a little blown away by all the phone calls. If you are not interested, please don't bother calling. I will post a full report on the rig this afternoon as I am looking at it in a few minutes.

No, you assume wrong. The engine was replaced by Toyota with a new engine. At that time they installed a new odometer. The total chassis mileage is unknown. That is why the price is so low.

He thinks it has a total of about 200,000 miles on the chassis, and 116,000 miles on the engine. New front pads, new fluids in all diffs, oil change, and a knuckle rebuild by the previous owner. He says it is clean, but I will see today.

Still - for 4k w/ locking diffs sounds like a good deal...

Exactly, I am thinking about a local commuting vehicle that I can lift and go most anywhere hunting, fishing, and job site wise for under $6000.

Just showed the link to my dad (he had been driving my FJ62 for about 2 weeks, and fell in love with it) He just talked to the guy and is going to go buy it friday if not sold by then. The seller has about 4-5 appointments for people to look at it in the next few days. But like what was said earlier, Money talks.

Just swung by and took a quick peeck at it while it was sitting locked. I am going to try to drive it this afternoon. If anyone wants any specific answers about it, just PM me. I don't want to litter the board with two much until I drive it and talk to the owner face to face.

Good luck. I talked to him a week or so ago and almost decided to pull the trigger sight unseen, then my girlfriend said she would kill me if I did. So, right now I'm back on the search for a commuter car that gets good gas mileage.

How about a nice 04' SE Camry? It gets between 28-32 mpg and has under 90,000 miles. I'll sell it for my trade in, which is about $9300.

Thanks but I'm looking for something somewhat sporty. Ive been looking at the Mazda 3 hatchback since its a good combination of room, gas mileage, and fun to drive.

What do you think the SE stands for. Sport Edition, just kidding I know what you mean. It was my solution to a family car with sport apeal without going to a BMW.

Jeremy

Edit: I see you are the same age I was when I bought it. Be carfull with what car you get. First I got talked into trading my Tacoma for this, then 8 mos. later I was married, then 2 yrs. after that had my first kid. I am desperately trying to get back into a SUV, or truck. Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but my lifestyle definately needs an all-terrain vehicle.

That's funny, I just got a message when I tried calling the guy to see what time he would be home to test drive it and it said:

"I can not take anymore phone calls regarding the Landcruiser until after 5:00. It has been crazy! The first person that shows up in West Ashley with a check gets the car.

I don't think it is worth all this hype. Rig has a bad interior and a questionable history. The carpet was replaced for some reason, flood maybe? The engine was replaced by Toyota because they left the drain plug out and it left with no oil. He states he doesn't have any documentation of this other than that the gauge/odometer was changed at that time. Oh, and he said last time he checked the diffs they stuck locked. Which is pretty common, but still may be a problem.

So who wants me to get the Vin, to see what's the story on this? I am not coughing up the money for a carfax as I am not planning on fighting over this rig. I don't do things spurt of the moment.

Jeremy

Sold for $5000.

But not to me. :frown: If anyone on here bought it, please post up. It was a pretty nice looking cruiser. For a white one.

Lol. I am probably keeping the 80 but just making it a weekend ride. The Bronco will have to stay since it doesnt cost much in taxes and insurance, plus it was my first car so I can't sell it. I am just looking for a commuter for work. Ill probably end up spending about $5000 to $6000 on Honda and call it done. I do like the thought of a new reliable car but dont know if I really want to spend $15000 to $20000.
