more updates....

Way too nice of a day to spend the whole thing working.

Worked on getting the bumper installed. A HUGE thank you to Brock for his very informative thread on the installation of the Bump It rear bumper!

Here we go....

Used a Sawzall to cut the cross member and an angle grinder to clean things up:

Trust me....it is one heavy son of a gun to lift up here by yourself!

So as a gsd person too...how many times did fido come over to inspect that rear bumper to make sure everything was ok while you were trying to lift it on there?

I don't think he trusts me....it was a continuous inspection.

Any issue with the added weight of the bumper vs the AHC? I have an 06 in the same color scheme and I'm about to get a slee rear bumper (after a nasty rear end collision).

They are Bump-it sliders.

I do not have AHC, but I am sure others that do can chime in on the added weight.

Lucky man. If I had it to do over, no AHC for me.

Finished bumper install...

Final pics. Still need to finish the trailer wiring plug and not pleased with the wiring yet for the license plate light but that is minor stuff.

you forgot to wipe out the license plate on the last one there. not that it matters. . .

Looks great! Have you thought about painting this area of the body the same color as the bumper?

Actually that is a great thought.....wish you would have suggested it before I put the bumper on :)!

Manny is looking great....and Mike at BIOR really cranks out some top shelf stuff. That rear bumper setup looks fantastic.

How are you liking those tires? I am thinking of trying them out. How did they affect your gas mileage before you added the lift, bumpers ect..? Are they smooth and quiet?
Awesome looking truck BTW.

Terra Grapplers are great for the money. Quiet, good traction in most conditions except mud, balance well and wear pretty well too. I had 20k on my last set and they still looked close to new. Search around on here, there are several threads about them.

I am a fan of the NTG's. Have had a couple set of them. These are "E" rated and they feel like a truck tire. gone is the smooth, float over bumps days, which is fine by me. I will trade a stiffer feeling ride for stronger sidewalls any day.

Mileage has suffered a couple miles per gallon overall. Can't complain too much with the addition of the weight, lift, tires, etc.
