Which fuse does the tailgate on a 75 operate? I have searched for a few min...my books are out on loan and my eyes are beer blurred. And apparently I am to lazy at this time (in my defense the mosquitoes are biting) to pull them all.

Not sure about the fuse, but there is a capacitor.... and that tailgate safety switch?

Right thanks. I am beer clear now and I messed with the TG (pressing in) w.r.t. the safety switch last night before the bugs chased me off. Thanks.

There is no fuse for the tailgate window motor. There is a circuit breaker under the dash that's powered directly from the alternator. The switch in the tailgate is always powered while the dash switch has a relay that's energized when the ignition is on. And then there's the safety switch.

anyone see any issues of bypassing the circuit breaker by jumpering the two wires together? my window gets stuck sometime due to weatherstripping and i hate having to wait for the circuit breaker to reset before trying again.

The circuit breaker should never be bypassed - it protects the pig from busting into flames (kidding but not really) if you have a short in the wiring, a jammed motor etc. BTW the circuit breaker is up unded the dash.

The safety switch on the gate (DS side bolted to the body) has been bypassed many times - caution here is this keep the window from opening when the gate is open
