Just took delivery of 2020 LC and traded in my 2016 with 27k miles after driving it for 4 years. After the deal was all set I was amazed that took only $20k to move to a 4 years newer LC which translated to cost of $5k/yr. Probably I could make the delta even smaller if would take a time to sell privately mine. Tax savings and the deal itself made me pull the trigger. If you are shopping for a new one, definitely shop around as you can find amazing deals out there and don't have to settle for left over 2019.

How did you only have 27k miles after 4 years? I put 15k on mine and haven't had it a year. I can't keep it on and off the road. Lol. Good deal, tho.

There’s a few cars like that, not many though. Corvette, LCs and Suburbans. The 2 GMs, if purchased with some incentive, can be near free if mileage accrual is low.

I’m a 15k+ mile driver so I don’t get to play that game.

27 mi ?!?! Someone is going to get a great used LC.

Why pay 20k for a mild upgrade on a car you don't drive?

I have a short drive to work and with remote work/travel don't put that many miles. Plus there are more toys at home to enjoy too. Love the LC and I know will keep it long term so want to have the latest. Hopefully some bugs we don't even know about were worked out too. Ex. I like the new KDSS valves,

Did you get the 2020 Heritage Edition? If not, what color combo did you get?

There is only one in my state so far and the dealer wanted sticker for it. As well I was on the fence on it. Love the wheels but not the color. As well it still have all the chrome. It needs to be blacked out. Silver hides the chrome well as it blends in.

Your trade in value makes me feel pretty good about picking up my 15 LC for $34K.

If you think that's good resale, you should look at the current used prices for FJ Cruisers. Hoooooly smokes!

The late model 2nd gen Tacomas are the same way. 2015s are still selling for what you could get them for brand new. Crazy.

I had a 2007 Tacoma I purchased new for 7 years and took a $3k hit. Their resale is simply insane.

For a luxury segment vehicle, the LC has amazing resale, but a new one still depreciates pretty quickly.

I just traded in a 2014 FJ Cruiser that I bought used and ended up driving it for "free" for 4 years and recently traded it in on a used 2018 LC with 1555 miles on it, $13K off sticker with vinyl paint protection, remote start, and glass breakage sensor options, in as new condition. The owner of the dealership was driving the car and told me that there is an extremely strong likelihood that the LC would be discontinued in 2022 and he felt that all used LC's would go up approximately 20% in price. Nothing's for sure but that was his view and that the new 300 model would only be sold by Lexus. Who knows?
