Good info, but I already bought the rims for the 22x11x8s, and with a little bit of luck my 4 tires will MAYBE be here today. If I build another one though......:hhmm:

I decided to make my own axle plate rather than have a machine shop drill it for me. I layed out where I wanted the holes, put both plates in the vice and went for it. Who needs a machine shop...

They fit pretty good, and the price was just right...FREEBIE...NADA....ZIP....ZERO. Istill don't have my tires yet so I tacked the axle to the plate to get a better visual.

Then I took it all apart and cleaned the tub with a off the shelf wheel wash and primed the chassis and sprayed on the rockgaurd. Kinda boring but everybody likes pics.

When the spool gun is dialed in you can get some pretty nice beads.

That looks great,, My company sells a agri trailer that has a very similar suspension on it..
Keep up the build!
Steve

Thanks, I really enjoy seeing something come together after building it in my head for so long. I was a little worried about welding the aluminum because I haven't done it for so long, but it turned out even better than I was expecting, kinda like riding a bike I guess. Now if only I had some tires.......:bang:

Kool build, are you gonna put some kind of material between the steel and aluminum rubber Siloflex?

Thanks. Yup, thats why I sprayed the rockgard on the chassis, pretty heavy coat where the aluminum meets the steel.

Thanks:beer:.Yeah, before I weld the axles onto the plate I'm gonna haul it down to the shop and hook it up to the trailer for a final visual. My shop floor is nowhere near level so I figure thats the best way.

HA! I wish I had a TIG, but I am pretty handy with a MIG:p. My tires were ordered thru one of the local Honda dealers. " Yeah Chris they should be here by the end of the week, no problem ", :hhmm:..... well the end of the week has come and gone.....but Elk season opens on the 17th so theres still time. I hope.

Kinda thought so, good planning...

Well I FINALLY got my tires and got a more accurate measurement for ride height, then I burned it in.

Here it is almost complete. Still got a couple small things to do, I'm thinking about Rhino lining the inside. Ride height will be perfect once I am sitting on the quad.
